Toyota Accelerator Venturi Throttle Ball Joint Linkage

Several of the OEM plastic ball joints on our BJ-40 were cracked and about to fail (you can see cracks in some of the pictures and a third one that already has bailing wire holding it together). If even 1 out of 4 fails, your truck stops. We went to find replacement parts and long ago, Toyota discontinued them! Very long story short, we wound up having some made. They fit exactly like the original but have two more benefits: they are steel, so they will never fail again and they have a locking feature so they can never come off the ball (this part is optional and can be undone by hand).
 
Purchase price gets you 4 ball end pieces with 4 optional-to-use locking pins, shipped from within the USA, to redo your two existing accelerator connecting rods.
 
They fit the existing 8mm diameter balls that are the OEM size on the levers and they fit the OEM rods that are 5mm diameter threads. Threads are normal right-hand threads for all ball joints. They are the same length as the OEM plastic ball joints. So, they are a drop in replacement. The steel ball ends in the pictures are what you will receive - there are pictures of extra stuff to give you more information: pictures of them next to the OEM plastic assemblies, a pic of them installed in our BJ40 and a general exploded diagram with the rod assemblies of interest circled in red. You have to provide the rods and jam nuts.
 
They probably fit all of the Toyota Land Cruiser diesels with a venturi such as the BJ40, BJ41, BJ42, BJ43, BJ44, BJ45, BJ46 but you need to measure to be sure. We're not sure about models like the HJ45 or HJ47 - if you are unsure, just measure what you have! We don't recall my FJ40 having these linkages, but can't be 100% sure. If it did, it is likely they fit it as well.
 
The OEM Toyota part numbers appear to be (depending on application and year and because you couldn't buy just the ball ends - instead you had to buy the right length assembly for your truck): 26370-56020, 21950-56010, 21905-56020, 21905-47031 or 26380-56010.
 
This part also will fit the Toyota Crown Ute - just measure your parts against the dimensions in the listing to be sure it matches your car. Plus, if you are restoring your Ute, it's a great looking part.
