Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 BJ43 B Diesel Lower Thermostat Housing Copy 16333-56012

We needed a lower thermostat housing for our BJ40 with a B diesel engine. It turns out that Toyota discontinued production a long time ago, so these are UNBELIEVABLY rare parts (at best, only to be found used from a wreck). There is only one per engine, so if you take it off, then that engine is worthless. When we inquired at all our sources about getting one, after they stopped laughing, they told us to try to weld the old one together! That wouldn't work for us because there was too much epoxy and not enough metal left - and we don't like the idea of that anyway - so we made our own.
 
This is an excellent copy of the original. It is cast out of aluminum and machined to original specifications. Check out the picture of the first unit manufactured - we installed it in our BJ40. Also included is an exploded drawing showing an overall assembly. You get only the thermostat housing - all other pictured items are not included.
 
The pictures of the housing are representative. The casting process is variable, so there will be slightly different casting, machining and finishing marks on the one you receive.
 
We believe the original Toyota part number is 16333-56011 or 16333-56012. The -56011 was replaced with the -56012 but both of them are discontinued. This housing has the tube connections for the water pump and the hose down to the oil cooler, just like the original. It fits the proper thermostat (lots of options here such as 90916-03103, 90916-03039), water temperature sender (83420-20011), top 90 degree elbow (16331-56010), etc., all of which can still be obtained.
