Do you have a robbing screen or other small opening to your hive and don't want to take it off for an oxalic treatment? This unit is only 2 inches wide and 3/8 inch tall. It will fit through all robbing screens we have found, most others won't!

What will you need:
This vaporizer and the included measuring scoop
Oxalic acid powder
PPE (personal protective equipment): goggles, gloves and respirator
12 v battery: We offer an accessory kit that contains a small battery (easy to carry) and charger. A car, motorcycle or lawnmower battery will also work. We put everything in a five gallon bucket for an easy-to-tote system
 
Process:
The scoop holds 1 gram of loose (not packed) oxalic acid powder
A typical application: For each hive, after human consumption honey supers are removed, apply 1.5 grams per treatment, 3 treatments total, treatments exactly 7 days apart
Insert the vaporizer into the hive before turning it on, no need to open the hive
Turn the vaporizer on and time out 4 minutes. Usually, you can see the smoke vapors escape cracks during minutes 2 and 3
Disconnect the vaporizer power source
 
Care of Vaporizer and System:
Do not dunk the vaporizer bowl in water to speed cooling. That thermal shock will quickly ruin the vaporizer. Should there be a need to treat a second hive, ideally the vaporizer should be allowed to air cool until cool enough not to melt a new charge of oxalic acid. If you wish to increase the cooling speed, bury the vaporizer in dry, loose sand or gravel
Use a fully charged battery for 12v vaporizers, if the voltage or current is too low, the vaporizer will not work properly
