Fr. 2300 $1 1935A Hawaii Silver Certificate, Very Fine

During World War II, the potential for enemy seizure of American cash circulating in Hawaii was a significant concern to the United States. Emergency issues of paper money were produced that bore distinctive treasury seals and overprinting with the idea that this special currency could be cancelled in the event of invasion, rendering it worthless in enemy hands. This currency was issued in Hawaii to both civilians and the military. Just like all US-government issued currency, if you felt like it, you could still spend this note today. In very fine condition, it is a nice mid-level note, ideal for a type collection.
